Okara win Veterans Cricket trophy
LAHORE: Okara Seniors annexed the trophy of 19th National Veterans Regional Cricket Championship when they outplayed Wah Power by 5 wickets in the final here at Shah Faisal Ground on Thursday. Wah Powers, batting first, hit up 238/8 after 30 overs. Yousaf Khan contributed unbeaten 60followed by Asif Naeem 36, M Pervaiz 35, Khurram Shahzad 28, Rashid Latif Jr 25 and Altaf Hussain 22. M Anees claimed 3/58 and M Hafeez 2/34. In reply Okara Seniors scored 239/5 after 28.1 overs. M Hafeez top-scored with 76 not out. Kashif Bajwa 59, Irshad Ahmad 39 and Amir Tauseef 19 were the other main contributors. For Wah Power Yousaf Khan got 2/39. M Hafeez was declared man of the match. At the end chief guest ex-Test cricketer Mudassar Nazar gave away the prizes. Also present on the occasion were Chief Executive Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) Nawab Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, former Pakistan captain Intikhab Alam and former Pakistan team manager Azhar Zaidi.
