Drizzle turns Peshawar weather pleasant
PESHAWAR: The afternoon drizzle on Tuesday turned the weather pleasant in the provincial capital.
Thick clouds covered the sky for the whole day and light shower hit the city in the afternoon, bringing the temperature down.
The Met office forecast intermittent rain till Friday. Met Director Mushtaq Ali told The News more rain was expected in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Though the rain dropped the mercury, which had gone high during the last one month, it may prove harmful for crops if continued for a long time.
“The rain is harmful for crops nowadays, especially wheat and barleys which are ripe for harvesting and further shower may badly affect the production,” said Prof Dr Farmanullah from the Agricultural University Peshawar.
The official said the climate change due to global warming was causing severe damage and Pakistan and Afghanistan were among the most hit areas.
