Patron’s Trophy semis: Ghani Glass 241 all out: Umaid, Nazar leave ZTBL reeling

ISLAMABAD: Umaid Asif (3-38) and Nazar Hussain (2-9) left ZTBL struggling on the opening day of Patron’s Trophy Grade II semifinal against State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) at the Diamond Ground Tuesday. On a day when only 46 overs were bowled due to wet condition of the ground, ZTBL reached 143 for 7 in their first innings with Saad Nasim (48 not out) being the only batsman trying to fight it out. He struck six fours in his 42-ball unbeaten knock. Saad took the crease when ZTBL were reeling at 49 for 5. Together with Usman Ashraf (29) he took the score to 112. Pacers Umaid and Nazar exploited the damp conditions at Diamond Ground. Surprisingly, ZTBL opted to bat first in damp and dull conditions after winning the toss.
