500,000 people to use buses daily in Peshawar: BRT coordinator
PESHAWAR: Saying that 500,000 passengers would travel on a daily basis on the buses of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in the city, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday showed full confidence in the pace of work on the project.
Through a statement, the BRT coordinator Khalid Mukhtiar said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was satisfied with the speedy work on the mega project. He said the construction companies were working round-the-clock for timely completion of the BRT. "The government departments have praised the work of the construction companies. The companies have started removing debris from the roads at Reach 1, Reach 2 and Reach 3 of the project," he added.
He said that more than 4,000 employees were working on the 28 kilometres long international standard project. The BRT coordinator said that work on the construction of the bus depot had also started in Chamkani. "Despite the flow of traffic on the roads at the working areas, the companies continued work to complete the project in record time," he added.
