CJP urged to take note of fertilizers’ price hike
JARANWALA: The sellers have started fleecing the farmers by increasing the rates of phosphate fertilisers arbitrarily in the market here on Sunday.
Few days back, one bag of DAP fertiliser which was being sold at Rs2,950 to 3,000 in the market is now available at Rs3,250. Likewise, the rates of other phosphate fertilisers have also been increased without any check. As the season is set to begin, the demand for the DAP and other phosphate fertilisers has been increased. The farmers use these fertilisers for the crops of sugarcane, green fodder, vegetables and others.
Moreover, the sowing season of the rice crop is about to end. Taking advantage of the demand, the sellers have started fleecing the farmers by increasing the prices arbitrarily. The farmers have demanded the chief justice to take notice into this situation.
