Youth held for blackmailing girls on social media

GUJRANWALA: CIA police on Saturday arrested a youth on the charge of blackmailing girls on social media.

DSP Imran Abbas while talking to media told that accused Mumtaz Ibrahim of Talwandi Kajurwali had made more than 12 fake IDs on social media and he was allegedly using these IDs for establishing contacts with the girls. He disclosed that the accused was taking money from the girls and their parents also after allegedly blackmailing them by using girls’ pictures and other material. During preliminary investigation, the accused had confessed to blackmailing over 12 girls till now by getting pictures from them and later uploading them on social media after editing, the DSP said. The police recovered hundreds of pictures of girls from the accused, he added. Imran Abbas said that the accused told the police that he had received millions of rupees from different girls and their parents by blackmailing them. The police officer said that the investigation team also found criminal record of the accused as he was involved in robbery and other criminal activities also.

BANK GUARD ARRESTED: Model Town police on Saturday arrested a bank security guard who had locked himself in the bank after opening fire in the air. Reportedly, the police received information that some dacoits had entered a private bank situated on GT Road to loot it. However, when the police investigate the matter from the security guard deputed on the main gate, he told that another security guard Asad had locked himself in the bank after opening fire in the air. At this, the police immediately called the family members of the said security guard and send the uncle of the accused in the bank. Later, the accused guard handed him over to the police. The police said that the accused did not touch or damage any locker in the bank.
