Nepal seeks more trade with Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: Nepal wants to further boost bilateral trade and economic relations with Pakistan, a foreign official said on Saturday. Speaking at the Gems and Jewellery exhibition held under the auspicious of Capital Gems Traders Association Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Nepalese Ambassador Sewa Lamsal Adhikari said that the two countries have tremendous potential for investment to strengthen mutual trade and economic relations.

Pakistani products such as leather, textiles, machinery, medicines and medical equipment, shoes and sandals, spices and dry fruits could be exported to Nepal, he said, adding that exports of various goods from Pakistan is very limited.

She expressed keen interest in enhancing the trade activities between Pakistan and Nepal and called for concrete efforts by the two governments.

Earlier, the envoy visited various stalls and appreciated the stones and minerals and cutting and polishing tools.

Talking to APP, Capital Gems Traders Association Rawalpindi-Islamabad Vice Chairman Mujeeb Shah said that Pakistan is full of natural resources and emphasised on the need to exchange business delegations for enhancing trade and investment opportunities around the world.

He demanded the government to take prompt action to promote and establish the industry and to generate more revenue.
