Two policemen injured in attack by villagers

KASUR: Two policemen were injured when villagers attacked them at Najabat village in Usmanwala police limits on Thursday.
On a tip-off, police raided the village and arrested narcotics dealers Ali and his brother Pervez. Police also recovered 1kg charas and 500 gram opium from them. During the raid, the accused’s family along with villagers attacked the police party, damaged a police van and got the two accused released from the custody. They also pelted policemen with stones. As a result, two constables, including Mehmood, were injured.
Later, hundreds of villagers reached the police station and pelted it with stones while policemen baton-charged them. Police registered a case against more than 200 people and arrested 16 of them.
