Two friends killed in truck-bike collision

GUJRANWALA: Two friends were killed in an accident at Alipur Chowk in Aroop police limits on Thursday. Irfan, 28, of Civil Lines and Awais, 26, of Asghar Ali Road were on their way when a truck hit their motorcycle. As a result, they were killed on the spot while the truck driver escaped. Police are investigating.
Two dacoits escape from lockup

GUJRANWALA: Two dangerous dacoits fled from police custody here on Thursday.
Ladhewala police post had arrested dacoits Usman and Qadir and detained them in the lockup. On the day of the incident, the dacoits escaped by breaking the lockup roof. Qila Didar Singh DSP Wasim Dar is investigating. Meanwhile, police teams have been constituted to arrest the dacoits.
FIVE BUTCHERS HELD: Five butchers were arrested for selling unhygienic meat here on Thursday.
Health Officer Dr Saeed along with his team raided different areas and caught butchers Qasim, Imran, Afzal Shahzeb and Ejaz red-handed for selling stale and stinking beef. The team recovered five maund stale meat from the butchers and destroyed it. Ladhewala Warraich police have arrested the butchers and registered cases against them.
