Rawalpindi qualify for Under-13 cricket semis
ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi beat Islamabad by 65 runs to qualify for the semifinals of the Young Inter-Region Uner-13 Cricket Championship following last day matches at the KRL Ground Tuesday.
Fielding lapses on the part of Islamabad fielders helped Rawalpindi hit up 191 for 5 in 20 overs.Islamabad fielders dropped two catches in one overs of Syed Momin Shah and also conceded nine extra runs from over throws. In all eight catches were dropped to help Rawalpindi achieve daunting total. Saad Masood (48) played well for Rawalpindi.
Shamyl Hussain (67) fought a lone battle for Islamabad before team was restricted to 126 for 7.Spinners had a hey day on pitch as leg break Ibrahim Khan took 4-14 while off spinner Mohsin Sardar took 2-12). The decision to bowl first on placid pitch also proved fatal for Islamabad.
