CJP takes notice of non-payment to sugarcane farmers

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of non-payment of price of sugarcane to farmers by sugar mills. The notice was taken on applications of different farmers requesting that they are not being paid the price of sugarcane. The CJP has directed all sugar mills to provide certificate duly endorsed by CEO of the sugar mill within 10 days that how much quantity of sugarcane has been purchased from farmers and what price of sugarcane has been made to them. The case has been fixed for hearing on April 24 at Islamabad.
