Noted academician passes away in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Known academician and communication specialist, Professor Dr Ghulam Farid, passed away on Monday after a protracted illness. He was 78.
His funeral prayer was offered at University Wansom College. He is survived by two sons and five daughters. Late Dr Ghulam Farid served the Higher Education Department for 45 years in different academic positions in colleges and Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan.
He had command over Economics, Statistics, Political Science and Mathematics. He was the pioneer head of the Department of Economics as well as the Statistics at the Gomal University in the 70s.Dr Farid did doctorate in mid 80s in Mass Communication while highlighting the Qurr’anic concept of communication.
