Fire again erupts in Multan departmental store
MULTAN: After the pause of two days, fire again erupted in the godown of a departmental store in Cantonment area on Sunday morning. Talking to The News, District Officer Emergency Dr Kalim said the prime cause offire was heat in the building. He said the fire incident had heated the entire environment but the firefighters actively controlled the fire. The inside temperature of the building was high because the firefighters had spent two days in dousing it out but the heated environment would take time to cool down.
The departmental store owners have been asked to remove the burnt items as soon as possible. Dr Kalim said the store owners were asked to remove heavy electricity generators placed at the top of third floor by hiring additional labour. Earlier, massive fire erupted at the departmental store two days ago, which burnt the valuables worth more than Rs250 million. No loss of life was reported.
