NAWABSHAH: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said the former president Asif Ali Zardari is for Bhutto family what Captain (retd) Safdar is for the Sharif family. Declaring Zardari, as the biggest problem of Sindh, he said he would contest elections from Asif’s hometown.
Imran was addressing the party’s membership campaign in Nawabshah on Thursday. He was accompanied by Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi, MNA Dr Arif Alavi, Fawwad Choudhry, Dr Aamir Liaquat, Liaquat Jatoi, Imran Ismail and others.
He said following disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, it is now Zardari’s turn to ask why he was ousted and sent to jail. He said he is fighting against the ‘Firons’. Imran said the time has come for ridding the country of one ‘Firon’ from Punjab and the other from Sindh. Optimistic that the PTI would form the coming government, Imran appealed to the people to support his party and candidates to hold the ‘Firons’ accountable.
Imran Khan said the wealth of Sindh has been stolen and transferred abroad. He charged that “ the man who sold Bambino Cinema tickets in black,” has now become the owner of large number of sugar mills. He said that both Nawaz and Zardari have exploited the poor and the down trodden people of Punjab and Sindh respectively. The PTI Chairman said he has relieved the people of Punjab from the clutches of a ‘dacoit’ and now the time has come to rid the people of Sindh from “the big disease”. He said while the rulers of Sindh get votes in the name of Bhutto, they exploit the same common man who has voted for them. He lamented that while the growers of Sindh are at the verge of disaster, the number of sugar mills of Asif Ali Zardari are increasing.
Asking people not to worry, the PTI chairman said the period of darkness is going to end very soon. He said the people of Sindh are subjected to worst form of oppression which is incomparable to any part of Pakistan. He claimed that even in Balochistan the people have better living conditions than those of Sindh. Imran alleged that the leaders of Sindh are habitual in using the police against the common man. The Sindh Police is so politicised that it victimises common man, registers fake cases, throws them in jail and even kills them. But, he claimed the police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is truly independent and free of any political pressure and no one is subjected to any vengeance.
