Protesters demand restoration of provincial status of Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR: Activists of Tehrik Bahali Soba Bahawalpur Thursday staged a demonstration in dried River Sutlej, demanding restoration of provincial status for Bahawalpur and revival of the river.
Tehrik Bahali Soba Bhawalpur leader Aasia Kamil, PTI leader Syed Tehseen Gardezi and Yusuf Akram Abbasi led the protesters. They raised slogans against the Punjab government and the federal government. The protesters urged the Pakistani government to raise the issue of River Sutlej in International Commission of Arbitration.
ARMED MAN ARRESTED: The Bahawalpur Airport Security Force arrested an armed man on Thursday. The airport security force arrested accused Shahidul Haq of Mamoonabad with a pistol and bullets. Later, the ASF handed him over to the Baghdadul Jadeed police.
