Adventure tourism gala at Khanpur Lake attracts youth, families

HARIPUR: The spectacular water sports and adventure tourism gala at Khanpur Lake attracted a large number of enthusiast youth, both male and female, and families who enjoyed various activities at the tourist resort.

The gala, titled as “Jashn-e-Baharan, or spring festival” was jointly organized by the Mabali Island and Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) for the youth and families with an aim to provide them an opportunity of entertainment and healthy activities.

The participants enjoyed different water sports and adventure tourism events including jet ski, vek tube, family boating, zip-lining, shooting, archery, volleyball, treasure hunt, instrumental music, rabab mangay, individual boating, hiking, trekking, bonfire, tug-of-war and a lot of more.

The organizers had also established different stalls at the scenic venue showcasing traditional cuisines, citrus fruits and other tasty eatables.

It was the first festival of the current year arranged at the Khanpur Lake by the TCKP to attract tourists and visitors to the serene spot and revive tourism in the province.

Besides other facilities, the TCKP provided transportation facility to the participants and visitors from Peshawar to Khanpur Lake.

In-charge Marketing, Hassina Shaukat, said that the gala was a good example of public and private partnership, where both water sports and adventure tourism activities were arranged for the youth.

She said that private sector was being provided a number of facilities and incentives so it could be encouraged to come forward and supplement the government efforts for the promotion of tourism in the province.
