Lights out in Khuzdar
Residents of Khuzdar have witnessed severe power outages for a long time. This is a source of considerable dismay as Khuzdar is the largest district of Balochistan with a vast population that has been affected by this crisis.
Many years ago, a 132 KV transmission station was established in the district to supply electricity to Khuzdar and other major cities of Balochistan. Power is also being supplied to Quetta through this power station. However, the presence of power stations has done little to alleviate the plight of residents. Prolonged blackouts have become the order of the day and have adversely impacted business activities. The relevant authorities must pay attention to this crisis and take steps to overcome these incessant power outages.
