Dacoits kill man, loot valuables in 13 hits

GUJRANWALA: Dacoits killed a man besides looting cash, cell phones and other valuables in 13 incidents here on Sunday.
Two dacoits intercepted trader Aslam at Gurunanakpura and tried to loot him in Baghbanpura police area. They shot him dead on resistance. Later, shopkeepers of Baghbanpura staged a demonstration against the incident and demanded transfer of the Baghbanpura police SHO for failing to control crimes in the area. Two bandits snatched Rs 8,000 and two cell phones from Fayyaz at Main Market Satellite Town. Three dacoits entered the house of Iqbal Butt at K Block Peoples Colony and tried to loot cash and other valuables. However, on hue and cry of the family, the dacoits fled. Two dacoits intercepted Rehmat Ali at Khiali and snatched his motorbike, cash and a cell phone. Two dacoits looted a new motorbike and cash from Younis along Canal Bridge. Three bandits snatched Rs 9,000 and a cell phone from Tanvir at Tung Kalanin village. Two bandits took away Rs 7,000 and a cell phone from Azam at Khanpiara village. Thieves broke into the workshop of Nazir at Alipur Chowk and decamped with valuables. Thieves broke into three shops at Konlu Bazaar on Noshera Road and decamped with valuables. Thieves stole motorbikes of Sardar Muhammad, Adnan and Irfan from different parts of the city.
ATTEMPTS SUICIDE: A woman along with her twin sons attempted suicide at Ittefaq Colony on Sunday.
Ayesha, the wife of Yasin and a mother of seven-month-old twins Ahmad and Ammad, administered acid to her sons and later she also took acid. All three were rushed to the DHQ Hospital in critical condition. The motive behind the incident is said to be poverty.
