Gujranwala DC found hanged
GUJRANWALA: Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ahmed Tipu was found dead at his official residence here Thursday.
The initial report suggests that it could be a case of suicide, said the assistant medical superintendent at the district headquarters hospital. “Upon commissioner’s request, when we reached the DC House, we found the body hanging from the fan,” said the AMS, adding that the commissioner has been informed about the legalities of the post-mortem. The DC was living there with his parents while his wife and children lived in Lahore.
In the morning, when he did not come out of his room, the servant knocked the door but there was no response. He informed his parents about it. When they entered the room from back door, they found his body hanging from a ceiling fan. It is yet to be ascertained whether it is suicide or murder. On information, the commissioner, RPO and other officers rushed to the spot. Police have shifted the body to DHQ hospital for post-mortem and started investigation.
