HAFIZABAD: Three people were killed in different incidents on Saturday.
According to police source, the body of Ihsanullah, a cultivator of Bhirri Chatha, who was abducted by unidentified accused on February 28, was recovered from Qadirabad-Balloki link canal, adjacent to police post Hameedpura.
The police detained some villagers for interrogation.
17-year-old Ameer Haider, of Mohallah Rehmatabad, died on the spot when his motorbike dashed against an electric pylon.
Waqas Ahmad, 2, of Mohallah Bijli Ghar Hafizabad committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills after an altercation with his parents.
LOCALS DEPRIVED OF VALUABLES: Villagers were deprived of cash and valuables on Saturday.
Ghazanfar Ali, son of Mansib Ali, of Sukheke, was on the way to Kot Sarwar on his bike No LR-1556. When he reached near the canal bridge Tavelywali, two bandits intercepted him and snatched his motorbike, Rs 5,000 and his cell phone.
Shahbaz, son of Asghar, of village Batairay, was going to Mandi Bahauddin in a van with his relatives. When they reached near Chak Ghazi, three robbers intercepted them and snatched Rs 28,000 and other valuables.
OBITUARY: Rustam-e-Hafizabad and founder member of the PPP, Inayat Pehalwan died on Saturday after a protracted illness. He was 70. He was laid to rest in the railways line graveyard. His funeral was attended by a large number of people.
