Inter-Provincial Games: Punjab contingent leaves for Peshawar
LAHORE: Sports Board Punjab’s 325-member contingent has departed for Peshawar on Friday to take part in 4th Inter-Provincial Games scheduled to start on March 18 in Peshawar.
Director Sports Punjab Javed Rasheed Chohan saw off the contingent with best wishes. Deputy Director Hafeez Bhatti, Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) Secretary Idris Haider Khawaja, DSO Sahiwal Akbar Murad and Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman were also present on this occasion.
Addressing the Punjab players prior to their departure, Chohan urged the players to utilize all of their energies and won medals for their respective teams. “Sports Board Punjab under the instructions of Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan, provided best facilities during training camps. We are quite confident that Punjab players will show glorious performances in all games in Peshawar,” he expressed his hope. PbOA Secretary Idris thanked Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan for making excellent arrangements for the training of Punjab athletes at different venues.
Punjab’s women teams will participate in 10 games while the male competitors will feature in 26 disciplines of the games.
