DCO for taking steps for maintaining peace

BHAKKAR: DCO Muhammad Zaman Wattoo has said that all possible measures will be taken to maintain peace in the district.
He said this while addressing a meeting of the District Peace Core Committee here on Friday. DPO Agha Yousuf, the committee’s convenor Rana Aftab Ahmed, Syed Wizarat Hussain, Maulana Abdul Raheem, Maulana Safiullah, Maulana Muhammad Abu Bakr, Sikandar Raza Naqvi, Haji Riaz Hussain Sial, Rana Muhammad Hanif, Zubair Mehmood Mughal and District Emergency Officer Muhammad Naveed also attended the meeting. The DCO said that action would be taken against those elements who would try to ruin peace of the district. He lauded the efforts of the committee for maintaining peace and inter-sect harmony in the district. He assured that the police and district administration would prefer the suggestions of the committee for maintaining religious harmony in the district.
RIVER BANK CHECKPOSTS TO BE ESTABLISHED IN PUNJAB: The Punjab government has decided to establish River Bank Checkposts across the Punjab to restrict arms & drugs trafficking in the province.
As many as 80 checkposts will be established in the province including Bhakkar in the first stage. The retired army personnel will be posted and effective telecommunication system will be established. This system is based on the information that smuggling and drug trafficking is being made through water ways.
