Shahbaz vows to bury Zardari-Niazi nexus
GUJRANWALA: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said if God is willing, his party will break the Niazi-Zardari nexus as it is shallow. They did nothing for the public.
Addressing a public gathering at the Jinnah Stadium here on Sunday, he said all had realized that Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari were not competent enough to show their faces to people in the provinces their parties were in power. He said his party delivered goods. After the next elections, the PML-N would introduce a metro transit project in Gujranwala too.
Before the rally, the CM, in a display of his wrestling skills, overpowered in jest a wrestler who came to greet him. The stunt gained cheers from the crowd. When he reached the stage, he was presented a Gurz and a turban.
The CM said the PML-N would rule the country after winning general elections and the country would see a new chapter of prosperity. The government undertook a number of development projects in the country while other parties did nothing for the common man. He said the credit for eliminating load-shedding went to the PML-N. He said farmers in Punjab were getting interest-free loans and fertilizer at half price. The deserving students were awarded stipends worth Rs 15 billion during the last nine years in Punjab.
He said various projects were completed in Gujranwala at a cost of billions of rupees in the last four years. “We gave huge funds to hospitals, set up mobile health laboratories throughout the province for the provision of better medical facilities to people at their doorsteps,” he said, adding that the people of Pakistan were aware who to vote foe in 2018.
Earlier, the CM inaugurated development projects including Aziz Cross Flyover , Girls Degree College Ladhewala Warraich, a multi-storey parking plaza and an e-library. He announced establishment of a university, a multi-storey surgical tower at DHQ Hospital, a flyover at Aalam Chowk and extension of motorway from Gujranwala to Khanqa Dogran Interchange.
