KARACHI: Pakistan’s youth and junior teams won their second match on the trot in the International Handball Federation (IHF) South and Central Asia Trophy being held in Faisalabad.
On the second day of the six-nation event on Sunday, Pakistan Youth defeated Maldives Youth 64-11. Meanwhile Pakistan Juniors overpowered Afghanistan 46-15. India Youth defeated Nepal 61-14. Bangladesh Junior team got the better of Nepal Juniors 43-21 and India Juniors whipped Maldives 33-21.
On the opening day on Saturday, Pakistan Youth defeated Nepal Youth 56-16 while Bangladesh Youth overwhelmed Maldives Youth 47-21.Bangladesh Juniors defeated Maldives Juniors 45-9 and Pakistan Juniors whacked Nepal 50-13. India Juniors crushed Afghanistan 38-14.
The event was formally inaugurated on Saturday by Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari, Minister of State for Textile and Commerce. Today’s fixtures: India v Bangladesh Youth, Maldives v Nepal Youth, Pakistan v Maldives Juniors, Afghanistan v Nepal Juniors, India v Bangladesh Juniors.
