Siraj backs Rabbanias Senate chairman
Jamaat e Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has supported Raza Rabbani as new Senate chairman and urged all political parties to develop a consensus to avoid horse trading, chaos and undemocratic activities.
He backed Raza Rabbani in a statement on Friday, after talking on phone with former president and PPP co-chairperson Asif Zardari who had called on him to discuss the prevailing issues and forthcoming election of chairman Senate. Sirajul Haq said the re-election of Raza Rabbani as chairman Senate would bring to an end the present political crisis and state of uncertainty.
He recalled that Raza Rabbani’s performance and his clean and corruption free style of working had impressed everybody as he had set an example by serving the country and the nation. Sirajul Haq said the differences with Raza Rabbani’s party (PPP) apart, his personal performance and capability must be duly acknowledged, adding that Rabbani’s performance and achievements were the best proof of his eligibility for the post.
