PESHAWAR: Mujahid Afridi, the main accused in the murder case of Asma Rani, a third-year student of Abbottabad Medical College from Kohat, was reported to have been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mujahid Afridi had fled abroad after the murder of Asma Rani in Kohat. Police were told he had fled to the UAE. On Thursday, there were reports that Afridi had been arrested in the UAE by the police.

The spokesman for the KP police, however, said the local police had been in contact with the UAE authorities for a few weeks. He added that they had received reports of the arrest of the accused but it could only be confirmed once he was handed over to the KP police.
