CTD kills five suspected terrorists in Chaman
QUETTA: Counter Terrorism Department claimed to have killed four suspected terrorists belonging to a proscribed terror group in an encounter at Chaman near Pak-Afghan border late Monday night.
Police officials raided a house in Chaman after receiving a tip-off from intelligence agencies regarding the presence of suspected militants in the area. Having sniffed the raid, the suspects resorted to firing and the cops befittingly responded and killed four terrorists.
The police officials claimed to have recovered three suicide vests, a large quantity of ammunition, explosives and weapons. Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department has arrested two hardcore terrorists Tuesday during an operation conducted in district Haripur of Hazara Division.
According to a statement, the CTD personnel conducted search and strike operation in Haripur and arrested two terrorists, identified as Abdul Mateen and Zaheer Abbas belonging to a banned outfit.
The statement added that Abdul Mateen belonged to Balakot area of Mansehra while Zaheer Abbas was a resident of Vehari.
Two hand grenades were also recovered from the terrorists and further interrogations were under way.
