Rs4 billion sanctioned for bridge on Indus River

MANSEHRA: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government has sanctioned Rs4 billion for the construction of a bridge on the Indus River to link Malakand and Mardan with Hazara division.
“The government sanctioned a total of Rs6 billion under the second phase of special development package for Torghar district of which Rs4 billion are meant for a bridge to be built on Indus River to link Hazara with Malakand and Mardan,” Pervez Khan, the deputy commissioner Torghar, told reporters on Saturday.
He said the one kilometre long bridge would be built on Indus River in Kotkay area of the Mansehra district. The official added it would minimise the distance between Hazara and Malakanddivisions.
“The government would also construct main artery of 75 km which links Thakot with Darband at an estimated cost of Rs1 billion,” he said. He said the government would soon start work on judicial complex, Levies headquarters, 20 dispensaries, 90 km metres link roads, many water supply schemes and three bungalows for the inspection team with rest of Rs1 billion.
“The government has already spent Rs4 billion in the district under the first phase of special development package since Torghar was given status of a district from a tribal belt of Mansehrain 2012,” he said.
