BAHAWALPUR: More than 28 hours have been elapsed but the traffic on main railway track could not be restored. Passengers started protest at Rahimyar Khan railway station amid acute shortage of water and food at the railway station till filing of this news.
For a few hours, one side track was temporarily restored but later it was again closed due to track restoration operation.On Wednesday, the situation became worst as passengers stranded in trains and those waiting at stations went on rampage and started protest against the railway authorities. Police were called to control the situation. It is worth mentioning here that on Tuesday evening, dozens of Daud Khail-bound coal-loaded bogies were derailed and many were overturned which damaged the hundreds’ meters railway track on up and down track.
