HAFIZABAD: Federal Minster for Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has directed the district administration to launch a crackdown on quacks and against those who were selling spurious medicines.
Addressing a meeting of the district administration here on Tuesday, she said that those NGOs who were fleecing the public should be taken to task and their registration should be cancelled. However, she added, those NGOs who were serving the humanity should be patronised and encouraged. She said that quacks were playing with the lives of the people and zero tolerance should be shown towards them. She directed to improve functioning of hospitals to provide better facilities to the ailing humanity. She said that more doctors were being recruited and longstanding demand of the people would be fulfilled by appointing doctors in all the hospitals including the RHCs and the DHQ hospitals.
FOUR INJURED AS ROOF CAVES IN: Four people were injured when a roof of an under construction factory caved in at Chak Chatha village on Tuesday.
The factory owner Khalid Pervaiz along with labourers Akbar Ali, Imran Ali and Bahadur Ali was standing on the roof of the under-construction factory when suddenly the roof collapsed. As a result, all four persons sustained injuries. Later, Rescue 1122 staffers pull out them from the debris and shifted them to the DHQ Hospital.
FIVE CAUGHT FOR CHEATING: As many as five candidates were caught red-handed while cheating from different examination centres during the Secondary School examinations here on Tuesday.
Invigilators caught Murtaza from Kaleke centre while four others including Ibrar Ahmad, Faisal Ali and Naveed Ali were caught red-handed from Kassoki examination centre. Separate cases have been registered against the accused persons.
