After organising massive rallies in Larkana and Hyderabad, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is now gearing up for a show of power in Karachi on March 22.
The religious party is working to organise the ‘Islam Zindabad Conference’ at a ground near the Mazar-e-Quaid on March 22. At the same venue, the party had organised a gigantic ‘Islam Zindabad’ gathering in January 2012.
Qari Muhammad Usman, the JUI-F Sindh’s provincial deputy chief, said the public meeting at the Mazar-e-Quaid would prove to be a landmark in the history of the country as millions of people would turn up. Central leaders of the party, including central chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, would address the gathering.
“In the gathering, the party will launch its preparations for the upcoming general polls,” he said. On Friday, a JUI-F delegation, led by Usman, met Karachi Commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan for formally getting permission to hold the gathering at the venue.
According to Usman, the commissioner has principally agreed on allowing the party to organise the rally, and directed Additional Commissioner Farhan Ghani to formally issue a permission letter.
