FAISALABAD: The University of Agriculture remained a hub of activities for the second day in connection with the World Women Day on Monday.
Cycling competitions, art exhibition, painting and cooking contests were held at Iqbal Auditorium. The women exhibited their skills in the different disciplines.
The March 10 propgramme includes sports gala at sports ground at 11:30 am whereas on March 11, 2015, fashion and cultural show will be held at Iqbal Auditorium at 10:30 am.
Three ‘dacoits’ killed in Faisalabad encounter
Relatives stage demo; claim they were not dacoits; demand judicial inquiry

FAISALABAD: Three alleged dacoits were killed in an encounter at Roshanwali Jhal on Samundri Road on Sunday night.
Five dacoits, including Jehanzaib, Ali Haider and Dilawar of Elahiabad, were robbing people of cash and valuables when police were informed. Following the information, police rushed to the spot. On seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, Jehanzaib, Ali Haider and Dilawar were killed on the spot while their two accomplices managed to escape.
Meanwhile, parents and relatives of the three killed dacoits staged a demonstration when police brought their bodies to Elahiabad. They blocked Satiana Road and protested against police. They said that the killed persons were not dacoits and police killed them without any reason. They demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident and suspension of the policemen, who took part in the encounter.
