33 held in Kasur for blocking Ferozpur Road

KASUR: Mustafabad police on Sunday arrested 33 people after registering a case against 45 persons on the charges of staging a demonstration, blocking Ferozpur Road for an hour and misleading the police in a case.
According to details, scores of villagers staged a demonstration against police before the Mustafabad police station. The protesters chanted slogans against the police and kept traffic blocked for about an hour. The agitators alleged that despite repeated calls to emergency number 15, the police did not reach the place of a dacoity incident. According to complainant Tahir Mahmood, 10 accused including Munir Ahmed forcibly entered his house and held the family hostage at gun point. Later, the accused allegedly took away Rs 500,000 from the house while the accused also tortured the inmates on resistance. The complainant said he called at emergency number 15 but the police did not rush to the spot . Later, Mustafabad police SHO Muhammad Arif rushed to the spot and arrested 33 protesters.
