Balochistan Football Cup kicks off today
KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) is going to organise the third edition of the Balochistan Football Cup 2018 which begins Saturday (today) with the qualifiers to be held in the six divisional headquarters.
The areas where the qualifiers will be held are Quetta, Kalat, Makran, Sibi, Zhob and Naseerabad. The final round will commence on March 1 at Sadiq Shaheed Football Stadium (Malibagh) in Quetta with the semi-finals and final to be held on March 28 and 30, respectively.
The event will carry 38 outfits involving nearly 700 players with 80 scheduled matches. Leading current and former national footballers Kaleemullah Khan, Mohammad Essa, Zahid Hameed, Saadullah, Sher Ali, Nasrullah Khan Baloch and Rajab Ali will serve as event ambassadors, the organisers said.
“PPL will provide incentives, including sports kits and prizes as well as travelling allowance to all teams, enabling optimum participation. The company has also invested in renovation of football grounds where these matches will be played. The event is being organised in collaboration with the government of Balochistan and Balochistan Football Association (BFA).
