Asma’s case: PTI demands Mardan district nazim to tender apology
MARDAN: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Tuesday gave 48 hours to District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar to seek apology from the people of Mardan for his role in Asma’s case.
Speaking at a news conference, PTI opposition leader in District Council Malik Shaukat, Mohammad Farooq Kakakhel, Adil Nawaz, Ali Gohar, Abdul Sattar, Sher Bahadur and other alleged that the district nazim wanted to defame the institutions of the district. They criticised the district nazim for his role.
They alleged that Himayatullah Mayar was a criminal and over eight first information reports (FIRs) were registered against him. They added that in 1990, an FIR was registered against Himayatullah Mayar under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and the case was still pending.
They added that in 2005, 2006, 2015 and 2017 FIRs were registered against him and majority of the cases were pending. They added that PTI government strengthened institutions in the district and ended interference in government departments which was continuing in the previous Awami National Party (ANP)-led provincial government.
They added that government job and tenders were openly sold and head of different departments were appointed after receiving bribes in the ANP government. They added PTI provincial Minister Mohammad Atif Khan who belongs to Mardan has started several mega projects in the district and established women university and women cadet college.
