ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has taken notice of not submitting the details of procurement, contracts and tendering of over Rs50 million projects by some public sector departments to the bureau for scrutiny and directed the DGs concerned to ensure submission of copies of over Rs50 million projects by the relevant departments.

Justice Javed reviewed the performance of Awareness and Prevention Division during a meeting at the NAB Headquarters. He directed a strict action against the departments not ready to submit Rs50 million or above projects to the NAB for scrutiny.

He said their top most priority was to make Pakistan corruption-free as the NAB was the largest institution of the country engaged in elimination of corruption.

He said the NAB law authorizes the bureau to scrutinize contracts of over Rs50 million or above. He directed the NAB officers to utilise their energies for promoting merit and transparency which would enhance their prestige besides augmenting reputation of the NAB.
