BAHAWALPUR: Minister of State for Interior and Education Training Mian Baleeghur Rehman Saturday said the Punjab clean water project would start functioning in 6 to 8 months.
The minister said the Punjab Clean Water “Punjab Saaf Pani Company” project would cost Rs 5.5 billion for providing potable water in rural areas of Bahawalpur division, comprising Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts and Lodhran district.
Chairing a high-level meeting of the Punjab Clean Water supply company for Bahawalpur division and Lodhran district, the minister said this.
General manager of the project Muhammad Ali Sheikh described to the meeting that under the project in the first phase rural areas of Minchinabad, Khanpur and Lodhran tehsils will be provided clean drinking water and 68 points has been selected for the installation of water filtration plants and treatment plants.
Meeting was also told that under this project 44 Reverse Os-mos treatment plants and 41 water filtration plants would be established.
