Appeal in Benazir murder case adjourned indefinitely

RAWALPINDI: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench adjourned for an indefinite period the hearing of appeal, filed by the accused prosecution and PPP in Benazir Bhutto murder case.

Division bench comprised of Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Shahid Abbasi. Due to non-appearance of PPP counsel Latif Khosa in the court on Monday the hearing was adjourned. Former CPO Rawalpindi Saud Aziz and SP Rawal division Khurram Shahzad have filed appeal against the punishment awarded by Anti Terrorism court in the aforesaid case. The FIA has also filed an appeal seeking enhancement in the sentence of the accused. The PPP has also filed appeal seeking enhancement in the punishment.
