NAWABSHAH: Transporters, shopkeepers, media men and administration are ready to join hands for removal of illegal encroachments throughout the district. This was announced by DC Tahir Husain Sangi in a meeting held at the Darbar Hall. The DC expressed different aspects of encroachment removal and proposed that the main roads of the city would be declared for one side traffic. He instructed the police to purchase or hire a lifter for removal of wrongly parked vehicles.
He was of the view that the encroachers were few but their encroachments were affecting the city’s half a million population. He said the encroachments were affecting the traffic flow but it takes more time for taking serious patients to hospital.
The DC said 20 locations had been pin-pointed for congestion due to encroachments and these would be removed soon. He said help would also be sought from Rangers. Present at the meeting were ACs of Qazi Ahmad, Sakrand and Daur Talukas and media representatives. They said government departments, including Wapda, should also help the encroachers by not objecting to the shifting of their poles. They proposed to shift offices and stops of transporters from congested roads.
