Mardan nazim wants CM, others nominated in murder case
MARDAN: District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar on Wednesday demanded that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, provincial minister Shah Farman and lawmaker Iftikhar Ali Mashwani should be nominated in the first information report (FIR) of the Asma murder case.
“The activists of the Awami National Party (ANP) will stage protest in the district against the provincial government for supporting the accused in the murder case,” he told a press conference at the Mardan Press Club. A large number of ANP workers were present on the occasion.
Himayatullah Mayar, who is also district president of ANP, said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government and District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmed were trying to conceal the facts. He alleged that the DPO was trying to defend the provincial government by distorting facts of the case. The district nazim claimed that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Shah Farman and Iftikhar Mashwani, who is also PTI district president, supported the accused. He alleged the family of the deceased girl was also pressured.
