JHANG: District Public Safety Commission former chairman Syed Shabbar Raza has demanded the Board of Revenue Punjab senior member order special audit of utilisation of Rs 120 million flood relief fund in the district.
Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that food hampers and other relief goods purchased by the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in huge quantity were distributed among the flood victims through the district administration. He said that many NGOs also worked in the flood-hit areas of the district and provided relief goods with the coordination of the Social Welfare Department.
After the utilisation of flood funds, the TMOs, the ACs and other officials concerned were transferred from the district just to close the issue. When contacted, flood relief focal person/Additional District Collector Babar Bashir refused to comment on the issue.
