SUKKUR: The Khairpur police arrested a gang of drug peddlers on Thursday and recovered contrabands from them. SP Khairpur Sajid Husain Khokhar said his team conducted a raid on a drug den in the limits of B-Section Police Station and arrested Zamir Shah, Zubair Shah, Hyder Ali Shah, residents of Luqman Mohallah, Khairpur, and recovered 1,300 grams of heroin, 1,300 grams of opium and three kilograms of Charas.
Three other criminals carrying Rs1.5 million head money surrendered at police stations, he added. He mentioned that 25 other criminals carrying head money had already surrendered before the police during the last two months.
Talking to reporters at his office, he said one of the criminals Ali Gul Kalery carried Rs1 million head money and was wanted in 16 cases of kidnapping, murder, road robberies. Another criminal Ali Muhammad, wanted in eight cases, while others wanted numerous cases also surrendered. He said the trust of the city’s people in the police had been restored, while the media was also helping in restoration of peace. --Correspondent
