SSB Wheelchair Tennis Coaching Camp, C’ship from Feb 10
KARACHI: Sindh Tennis Association (STA) is going to organise Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Wheelchair Tennis Coaching Camp and Championship (for boys only) at Union Club here from February 10 to March 9.
The SSB is the sponsor of this first-ever coaching camp to be held under the auspices of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF). The camp and tournament are being held in collaboration with technical assistance from Para Sports Pakistan.
The coaching camp will be held for two hours on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays in the morning. It will be a free camp and STA will provide conveyance allowance of Rs200 a day after the selection of players.
Initially 16 players will be selected and after one-week trial coaching eight players will be shortlisted for advance coaching. The championship will be held after the coaching camp.Khalid Rehmani (ITF qualified level one coach) will be the head coach whereas Ishrat Zehra and Aqeel Shabbir will be assistant coaches. Nadia Razzak, secretary Para Sports Pakistan, will be the camp commandant. These four officials are also selection committee members.PTF president Salim Saifullah Khan has promised to find a sponsor to buy 10 sports wheelchairs to carry on the coaching activity regularly.
