COAS attends funeral of soldiers martyred in Swat attack

PESHAWAR: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday attended the funeral prayers for 11 security personnel, including an officer, who were martyred in a suicide attack in Kabal tehsil of Swat district on Saturday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Nazir Ahmad Butt and other senior civil and military officials were also present. Later, the army chief visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to meet those injured in the incident. Eleven soldiers, including a captain, were martyred and 13 others were injured in the suicide attack at a sports ground in the Kabal tehsil in Swat on Saturday.
