Mardan village dwellers protest boy’s murder

MARDAN: The body of a 24-year old boy was recovered from the Sera Koroona Kalpani at Toru village on Saturday, police and locals said.
Later, relatives of the deceased put the body outside Regional Police Officer (RPO) office in protest.
An official at the Toru Police Station said that residents of the area informed officials of Toru Police Station about presence of the body in the Kalpani water canal. The police reached the area and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital. He said the deceased was identified as Gul Akbar, resident of Bagh-e-Iram.
According to police, there were no signs of torture or bullets on the body but the exact reason behind the death would become clear after the post-mortem report.
