Indian provocations can trigger war: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the regional peace is seriously threatened because of the Kashmir issue and cross-border firing from India and shelling inside the country are causing several deaths. India’s provocations could trigger a full-fledged war any time that could spread to the whole world.
The JI chief said that none of the governments in the country had done anything for the liberation of Kashmir and the rulers had only shown keen interest in friendship and trade with India at the cost of the Kashmiris’ blood.
Addressing a big Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that government's diplomatic efforts on Kashmir had been a total failure whereas Indian diplomats had been successful in winning over the world, and that was why even the Muslim states did not have a strong stance on the Kashmir issue.
Sirajul Haq said the United Nations had adopted 23 resolutions in support of the Kashmiris’ right of self-determination but none of these had been implemented during the last 70 years. However, he said, that the UN and the world community would have to take steps to resolve Kashmir issue to ensure peace in the world. He said the Kashmiris had doubts about the Pakistani rulers who were on one hand vying for friendship with India and exchanging the cultural troupes and artistes but at the same time, claimed to support the Kashmir cause.

Sirajul Haq said that the Kashmiris were laying down their lives for Pakistan and their martyrs were being buried wrapped in the Pakistani flag while the Pakistani rulers were indifferent and vulgar and obscene Indian films were being shown in this country as were ruining the character of the youth.
He said had the rulers sincere with the Kashmiris they would have given a clear line of action for resolving the issue as would also boost the morale of the Kashmiris. The JI chief appealed to the nation to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February with full national spirit as Pakistan was incomplete without Kashmir.
He said the Amnesty International had written hundreds of letters to the UN highlighting the human rights violations by the Indian troops in Held Kashmir but the UN seemed to be totally deaf and dumb on the brutalities being committed on the Muslims in Kashmir. Sirajul Haq also addressed the participants of the JI central workshop at Mansoora in the evening.
