POA delegation to inspect National Games venues in Quetta
KARACHI: A delegation of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) would visit Quetta in the first week of next month to inspect the venues being prepared for the National Games which are slated to be held in the end of April.
A source, who attended the POA Sports Commission meeting on Tuesday at the Olympic House in Lahore, told The News that after inspecting the venues the real situation about the biennial spectacle would become clear.
However he was quick to add that the commission was quite confident about staging of the Games in the scheduled time-frame. It is pertinent to mention here that the country’s mega spectacle had been postponed twice last year due to various reasons. The POA last October decided to hold the affair from April 21 to 29.
In the meeting, which was chaired by the POA senior vice-president Syed Aqil Shah, Inter-Provincial Games were also discussed. The source said that the Inter-Provincial Games had already been allotted to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would be held in the middle of March. The source said that the exact dates would be fixed very soon.
