Fallout of minor girl’s murder: DPO, Mardan Nazim’s tussle over security withdrawal
MARDAN: The District Police Officer and District Nazim have become involved in a tussle over the murder case of the minor girl Asma.
Asma, the four-year old resident of Jandarpar locality in Gujjar Garhi village in Mardan district, had gone missing two weeks ago. Later her body was found in a sugarcane field.
Mardan District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar, who belongs to the Awami National Party (ANP), took up the issue of sexual assault and murder of Asma in the print, electronic and social media and also arranged an All Parties Conference (APC) to highlight the incident and seek justice for the girl.
Himayatullah Mayar, in a video uploaded on the social media and while talking to this correspondent, said he highlighted the murder and sexual abuse of Asma and other children to create awareness and seek justice for the victims.
He said he criticised the role of the police in the case due to which District Police Officer Mian Saeed Ahmed withdrew security guards from him and his office.
However, the DPO rejected the claim and said that he did not remove the security guards from the office of the District Nazim but it was a routine transfer and posting in the police.
