Fleeing dacoits kill man, injure cop

FAISALABAD: Dacoits killed a fruit and vegetable dealer and injured a constable near Chak 84/JB on Wednesday.
Fruit and vegetable dealer Habibur Rahman of Thikriwala along with others started chasing the highwaymen who were fleeing after snatching cash and mobile phones from them when the criminals opened fire, killing Habib on the spot and injuring constable Zawar Khan. Later, the inured cop was shifted to Allied Hospital.
ARREST WARRANTS: Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Amjad Iqbal on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for eight police employees for not appearing before the court as witnesses in different cases.
They are: Muhammad Saleem, head constable/moharrar of Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station, constable Yasir and head constable/moharrar Muhammad Akram of Mansoorabad police station, Muhammad Younis, constable Muhammad Jawed, head constable/moharrar Jameel Babar, constable Muhammad Luqman and Abdul Sattar of Razaabad police station. The court has directed the respective SHOs to arrest them and produce them in the court on the dates of hearing.
MINOR DIES: A minor died at Chak 241/RB, Chanchal Singh Wala. Ahmad Raza (1) fell from his cot into a boiling milk pan and received serious burns. The minor was shifted to a hospital in precarious condition where he breathed his last.
