Brother confesses to raping, killing 13-year-old sister in Quetta
QUETTA: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema Monday confirmed that the 13-year-old girl was raped and then murdered by her brother, who was now in police custody.
The teenager was found dead in her house in Killi Ismail area of the provincial metropolis Sunday.
According to Dr Noor Baloch of Civil Hospital Quetta, the girl was raped and then strangled to death. DIG Cheema told the media that the accused had confessed to the crime in the initial stage of investigations. His blood samples as well as other evidence collected from the scene of crime had been sent to the forensic laboratory, he added. He said a special team, headed by Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Jawad Tariq, had been constituted to investigate the murder. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has also taken notice of the incident and ordered the police to apprehend the culprit within 48 hours.
